Overview
This year's West Regional PH Summit occurred on September 9, 2023, in Los Angeles, CA. Over a dozen regional faculty presented key topics impacting clinical practice and PH patient outcomes. The following topics were discussed at the event:
- Important advancements and updates across the PH disease spectrum
- The latest ERS/ESC guidelines for diagnosing and treating PH
- Critical advancements in screening, diagnosis, and treatment of CTEPH/CTED, lung disease-associated PAH, and CTD-associated PAH
- Real-world examples and data related to all discussion topics
Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of the interprofessional team, including cardiologists, pulmonologists, echocardiographers, sonographers, nurse practitioners and other clinicians involved in the management of patients with pulmonary hypertension.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:
- Review essentials of the updated ERS/ESC diagnostic and treatment guidelines and emerging medical entities for treatment
- Discuss current concepts on diagnosis and treatment of CTEPH and CTED with a real-world focus
- Debate the importance and practice of screening for, diagnosing, and treating PAH associated with connective tissue disease
- Learn the essentials of cardiopulmonary exercise testing for the detection and diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension
- Consider lessons from the symposium in light of real-world case examples
Accreditation and Credit Designation Statements
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Global Learning Collaborative (GLC) and Total CME, LLC. GLC is jointly accredited by the American Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 4.25 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.
